So, as I have mentioned to several other people:

I am on the design staff for the Mars' Hill, our student newspaper!

My coworkers are so rad. Christo, the editor-in-chief, is from South Africa and therefore has the best accent esp at 500 in the morning when he's sitting at a computer proofing and singing his own rendition of some crazy dub tune we were listening to. James is the visual editor (aka my boss) and enjoys wedgies from McDonalds (is that a canadian thing?). John, another design guru, fell asleep at his computer atleast five times last night and attempted to sustain himself with jujubes.

This is the life of a Mars' Hill employee... at least the hardcore night shift.

My first day on the job. My first shift I learned a few basics of photoshop and indesign and attempted to adjust to the crazy mac settings. Second shift was nothing terribly mentionable. Third shift was awesome! After looking at comm design mags for a while I got a special assignment. So it was off to the lower caf for a photo shoot of the ghetto basement. I fell in love with the Mars' Hill Leica (digicam) and got a few decent shots for the paper. The night lingered on with hours of editing and quality music keeping the flow.

1230am-736am

...and James and Christo were still hard at work when I left for my 800 class.

My original roommate Amanda! My RA and her convinced the higher ups to let Adrianne and I room together! This is Amanda reading "The Purpose Driven Life" with her boyfriend on the phone. She is an amazing girl! I hope you all get to meet her soon.

My resume for Mars' Hill. I had my first assignment tonight: taking pictures for a reflection piece. A third year student wrote about her younger sister joining her on campus this year. I took pictures of the two of them interacting and goofing off. (Ironic that I was asked to take pictures for this) It was so fun! I will post the pictures that they publish in the paper! It comes out on Thursday! And tomorrow morning I get to go learn about/help design/layout the paper!
