I hate that words carry so much weight... no, I love that. But right now I hate that.

Something I love: good friends. Friends who know where you're at and bring you encouragement and, in turn, you offer them encouragement. It's a reciprocal relationship that is just beautiful.

something else I hate: mmmm.. too soon to say anything.

a book with excellent logic: Hebrews! Whoever wrote that book knew argumentation so well. Each time I read another chapter I am floored by it.

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!" Hebrews 9:14

oi. hummers.

Seriously! Are they necessary?

Oh yes, the terrain in my city is really unpredictable. You never know when you have to floor it over oncoming traffic or take out those pesky pedestrians.

Schmack! They are just gas suckin', air pollutin', "fashion" statements. Now if someone actually has a true necessity for such a vehicle, by all means, enjoy!

But do any city skids actually need such a huge waste of financial resources?

Tonight, Josh Newton gave Erin, Carly, and I the nicest compliment. A small group of college-age skids have worship at Josh's place every Tuesday night so I went because:

a) I love singing, and
b) I love Jesus

It was so wonderful being with two of my best friends again! We love, we laugh, we gnaw on eachother. We are always hugging or mauling eachother just showing our love for eachother in a different way than our common shibboleths.

Anyway, so after the meeting Josh came over to us and read us an awesome verse out of John 15 and was reflecting on how awesome it is that our number one job as Christians is to love. Simply Entirely that! We are called to love and we can because Jesus first loved us. Josh told me how blessed and encouraged he was just seeing Erin, Carly, and I together.

I am set. Knowing that Josh was encouraged by the facile act of my friends and I loving eachother. Oh man, I could walk that last mile right now. But, thankfully, I have many more miles ahead to fulfill God's calling in my life. And what an amazing and beautiful calling it is: love.

some healthy words for all:

See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the nd the confidence we had at first. As has just been said:

'Today, if you hear his voice
do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion.'

Hebrews 3:12-15

I read this a few days ago, telling myself to remember it and apply it to a few things in my own life I promptly forgot it. I read it again the next day (it was repeated in Hewbrews 4), told myself to remember, forgot. I read it again today: it's finally sinking in and playing in my mind in those moments when I'd rather harden my heart. His voice is calling me to love someone my bitter shadow would rather hate. I'll stick close to the light so the shadow dissipates because Jesus is love, not hate.

a little edit to the Sunday. Renditions of this random day can be found on other blogs as well.

Church in Snoho: Singing men. My Easter season just wouldn't be complete without the Snoho men's choir. Rise up oh men of God!! I love the shiver. You know the shiver right? It comes when something so powerful (in visual or tonal beauty) hits you and your blood stops flowing for a moment. If it didn't start again obviously you would die so the shiver gets it going. One of the best feelings in the world because you know you've just been blessed by God.

Lunch: Chili. Catherine inspired me to put in more onion and chili powder. Genius! Also had some parmesan french bread with a touch of garlic. mmmmm.

Fremont: Sunday Farmer's Market. applause.

Mars' Hill: The pastor spoke on a passage in Ecclesiastes, my favorite book of the OT. I think I am in love (with the church).

Troll and Sundown: I don't recommend skirts for troll climbing but it did make it more fun. So maybe I do recommend it to everyone, male or female! The Sunset from Aurora bridge was beautiful. The Olympics were burning. Mount Rainier was out in full force to the left of the city. The Cascades were glowing further to the left. I remember now why I love Seattle: the fact that you can stand in one place and see mountains in any direction you look. It's God north, south, east, and west. What a blessing to live amidst such beautiful terrain.

Concert Droppings: We were in the area so we crashed the See Spot Rock show. I wouldn't pay to get in and listen to the Supertones butcher their old ska persona with their new wannabe rocker image but we got in free so I didn't mind skankin' to the old ska tunes.

Compline: yeah, not so much. The mystery exit evaded us so we got lost attempting to find an open starbucks in greenlake. The acid jazz inspired random songs which continued to the rooftop of starbucks. We apologized to the cops inside as we left.

once again: oh so fun.
